Plague has killed millions of people throughout the centuries. It is also known as the "Black Death". In this age of bioterrorism and capacity for aerosol dispersion, this disease has gained renewed interest. This course teaches you about the organism that causes plague, its transmission and prevention, its laboratory diagnosis, its clinical manifestations, its treatment, and the bioterror parameters of the disease. The course is geared to health care workers, but is clear enough for the general public to benefit. It contains videos, narrations, and animations. Approved for 3 hours of EMS Continuing Education in Maryland. Approved for national nursing contact hours--requires purchase of separate test.
