Description Documentation of age-specific competence of staff in healthcare organizations is a requirement for JCAHO certification. This course consists of two parts: The first part (83 pages) teaches you about the requirements and how to meet them. Upon the completion of this overview of age-specific competence, you will be able to explain why age-related competence is important, explain why age-related competence is important for JCAHO inspections, and list and describe steps in the implementation of an age-related competence program. The second part (135 questions pages) consists of five short tests that enable you to document your age-specific competence easily on Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Elderly. These tests cover general characteristics of age specific competencies that apply to most helathcare organizations and are not a substitute for customized ones that some organizations may require. 202 pages. Approved for ANCC credits for 2 contact hours of nursing continuing education.
