Basic Critical Care OptionsThe Basic Critical Care course is available in web, book, and CD form. They have slightly different options. We will explain them so you can pick the solution that works for you. What is common to every option is the simplicity of the program. It is simply a collection of over 800 questions in about 30 modules on different organ systems that accompany the standard AACN text on critical care for nurses. (This text should be purchased separately.) The primary author is one of America's top critical care nurses. The questions test the learner, make the learner work with the material, and then make the learner think more deeply about the material. Question answers are provided that reference pages in the text. A final test documents the mastery of the material. At this point, a nurse is ready for practical experience and mentoring in critical care units. The multi-user CDs are meant for installation on one computer open to several people. The CD version includes email access to the instructor, 75
contact hours of credit, and a printable certificate of successful completion.

The book version contains all the questions and answers of the modules. The final test for 75 hours of credit is in one-time tear-out sheets at the back that must be mailed in with a small fee. No email access is included. We recommend this version for libraries or for those who work better with books. In general, the interactive computer-based learning is better. The book is available at www.atlasbooks.com/uohc:
The web version comes with options. We recommend this version for those people who want the options of no email access or no credits with a discount. We also recommend the web versions for large groups. Contact sales@uohc.com for large group sales, and we can give you additional options such as online bulletin boards for you to interact with fellow nurses in your group. You can sign up for these courses from www.uohc.com/courseentry.htm.
